DIRECTOR AND LATER LIFE ADVISER
Karen has years of experience in financial services dating back to 1981 when she worked in her Father’s firm of Independent Financial Advisers. She covered all aspects of client support within the firm, before becoming an Independent Financial Adviser in 1990.
Karen set up The Wealth Care Partnership in 2007 with her co-director, Tim Anstee, to give holistic advice to people coming up to, and throughout, their retirement.
As testament to her excellent client care, she is still looking after a large number of her original clients and, in many cases, their extended families. Her advice and expertise covers:
- Tax efficient investments
- Income in retirement
- Inheritance, Income and Capital Gains Tax planning
- Immediate/Deferred Care Plans
- Wills, Powers of Attorney
Since 2010, Karen has been accredited with the Society of Later Life Advisers (SOLLA) and is a member of the Personal Finance Society (PFS). The PFS have requested Karen’s expertise in the area of long-term care advice, at their annual and regional conferences to educate their members on this very specialist area of financial advice. She enjoys helping her peers to understand the complexities of advising the later life client. She also presents to solicitors and various charities to help with their understanding of long-term care planning.
Karen is one of the leading Independent Care Fees Specialists in the country, and is featured in the “Top 100 Advisers” compiled by the New Model Adviser publication in October 2012. She has won The Best Long-Term Care Intermediary Award three times and has also achieved Highly Commended.
Karen lives with her partner in Fordingbridge in the New Forest with their two Wheaten Terriers and numerous ex-battery hens. On their free days, they love spending time with their family, walking their dogs, renovating their home and creating a fruit and vegetable garden.
